Turtles

Terracotta sculpture turtles inspired by the passing of knowledge to new generations and a nod to the many creation stories that involve the world being carried by these wise animals. The crescent moon on the back of the baby turtle symbolizes the potential that we all have when we are open to the possibilities of what lies ahead in the future. Expressing tender moments like this is a new path for me as I develop my clay hand-building techniques.
