LOVE

your art, BUT

I often hear this refrain when selling my art at fairs. People love to tell me why they can't buy my art.
(
fill-in-the-blank): afford the piece they want, need to pay rent, not enough space, etc.

At first, I thought this was strange. Why say anything at all? I surely don't need to know your reasons. Then, it became apparent that there might be some kind of guilt or shame when people are not able to purchase, especially when looking me in the eye, in a space displaying my detailed and not-cheap art. I totally understand.
