Ecological Vessels
August 29th - October 30th
Cleveland Botanical Garden
These delicate vessels are abstract recollections of ecological relationships.
Made of clay (earth), they are inspired by the indoor ecosystems at the Cleveland Botanical Garden: (Lush) Costa Rica and (Arid) Madagascar.
Ecology is the scientific study of relationships of living organisms and their environment. These sculptures tell ecological stories in a non-scientific, imaginative way.
By honoring the kingdoms of biological life through art, my goal is to encourage deeper ecological consciousness.
To remind us what we already know deep inside, that nature is our kin.
The process for conceptualizing and creating this body of work was a joyous year.
Allowing me to focus on bringing my two loves: sculpture and ecology together in a unique way
